Release Date and Title Change

So, big announcements today. For one, we got information that the release date is going to be out tomorrow at a NYC press conference. And yes, I am spazzing a little because for once Mike and Bryan are actually in NY.

And secondly, apparently a lot of fans asked Bryan on tumblr why the series wasn't just going to be called "The Legend of Korra" instead of "The Last Airbender: the Legend of Korra". So, the name of the show has been changed to "The Legend of Korra".

Sounds great, I'm guessing you found this on tumblr? I think they should had kept Avatar in it though, not sure what the point of taking it out is. I mean it is a continuation of the series.

they cant have Avatar in the title because they dont have the rights to it. idk it has something to do with James Cameron's Avatar. Like, they can use Avatar: The Legend of Korra as the title in the US but then they wont be able to have any merchandise say that.

Alright James Cameron needs to go in a hole. Seriously the guy is an asshole if this is his say. Big deal, your movie wasn't that great. This series also called Avatar, is much better. Deal with it.

^ it's not entirely his fault though. Nick could have fought it if they wanted to and probably would have won. But they didn't pursue it.

Still he thinks so highly of himself that no one else can have that in their title. Avatar The Last Airbender came out way before Avatar.

Damn, why does it have so early? This is a totally stupid schedule, night times are the way to go. I'm going to miss every episode, god damn it.

and yeah, i think the morning schedule is stupid. but apparently all of Nick's cartoons air new episodes in the morning now. this also happened with Young Justice @_@.

Seriously? I can understand juvenile kid cartoons, but if they think the teen population will watch Young Justice or Avatar (or any heavily plotted show in the morning) they're out of their mind.

Seriously I know they think it's still for kids, but most kids who are watching in the morning are too young to even understand what is going on with most shows, this is going to flop horribly with the audiences tuning in. I bet you that they change it later.

The problem is that I don't have a vcr, I can't record it. Nor do I have that Tivo or whatever the hell it is. I'm just stuck without a way to get it, unless I want to venture online after its been aired, and be spoiled by all the dorks who end up commenting in the videos.

You can get a DVD recorder. I dont have one (used to) but I would go that route if I were you.

And yeah, I completely agree. This is a really stupid idea. I dont know how well Young Justice has been doing lately but I haven't watched a single episode on tv.

anyway, yeah i agree. they have it right when everyone's going to be out. i mean, its one thing if the thing was airing in the winter but its going to be spring/summer where everyone wants to be outside. its really stupid.

im hoping they do something with an internet release right away. people are totally going to release the episodes online. its inevitable.

And Viacom and Nick will be right there, hawking the internet like starved animals. Nick never seems to cease to amaze me with their stupidity. There must be a really dumb corporate business man in charge, or woman.
